The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation celebrated philanthropy with sunshine yellow roses on May 31st and June 1st.
Volunteers in Talkeetna, Trapper Creek and Sunshine distributed nearly 400 roses to local businesses, residents, and visitors who stopped by one of the three booths that were set up in each location.
Donations were accepted but not required to receive a rose. Brochures and information about the Jessica Stevens Community Foundation and The Alaska Community Foundation were also shared in the booths.
Jessica’s Rose Day is only in its second year but, with the amazing reception by the public, this may turn into an annual event for the Jessica Stevens Community Foundation and for the people that live or visit the upper Susitna Valley.
