JSCF awarded Sunshine Station Child Care Center $1500 to help with the cost of providing nutritious meals and snacks to the 37 children enrolled at the daycare. As the only licensed childcare provider in the Upper Susitna Valley, they play a vital role in supporting families. As Director Kelsey DeMarce explains “A key part of delivering high-quality childcare is offering well-balanced meals that promote healthy growth, support brain development, and establish lifelong healthy eating habits.”
The amount of the grant is tripled thank you to a match grant from the Alaska Community Foundation through their Nourished Communities Match Fund. This opportunity is designed to increase food security for our nonprofit organizations in 2026. JSCF’s grant combined with the match provided $4500 to the daycare for healthy food!
